Earth Pulse Continues in September
This summer’s hugely popular Earth Pulse continues throughout September in the unique caves of Retretti.
The September season opens on Friday, September 4. After that, Earth Pulse will be open Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 19:00 throughout September.
Created by Finnish light and sound artist Marko Häkkinen, this immersive work invites you to pause for a moment and experience nature in an entirely new way.
Earth Pulse explores the connection between humans and nature – the invisible networks, rhythms and forces that surround us and of which we are all a part.
Shows start every hour. Capacity is limited, so we recommend booking your tickets in advance.
Some things need to be seen. Others need to be felt.

About the Event
Retretti’s story continues with an exciting new chapter in summer 2026, as the unique underground art space comes back to life as part of the Cultural Dream Year.
This is a temporary art pilot project aimed at bringing Retretti back into the living cultural landscape and connecting its rich history with future possibilities.
About Maan Pulssi
Maan Pulssi, meaning The Pulse of the Earth, is an immersive light and sound installation set inside the Retretti caves.
Sounds and materials from the cave environment become part of the artwork itself. Sound moves through the space, resonates within the rock and surrounds the visitor. Deep resonances and composed soundscapes guide visitors into the unique world of the cave.
The work is inspired by the idea that the Earth is not silent. Beneath the surface, there is constant movement and vibration: water flows, temperatures shift and invisible natural connections and rhythms are always present around us.
The installation continues Marko Häkkinen’s artistic Connection series, exploring unknown connections between nature, humans and the environment.
Maan Pulssi is designed for visitors of all ages. It is suitable for families, travelers and art enthusiasts alike. The experience is accessible and easy to approach, while also leaving space for personal interpretation.
